SAN FRANCISCO, APRIL 3rd, 2014 – The undesirable announcement of Windows XP support cutoff made by Microsoft brings a huge attention on system upgrading issue. The new survey conducted by IObit, an expert in PC performance and PC security, reveals that the biggest challenge for XP users to upgrade their system is how to transfer their important data from Windows XP to new system securely without any loss.
Among more than 5000 participants in the survey, most of them take their old data on Windows XP PC very serious. When asked what they worry the most during upgrading Windows XP, up to 57% of them show their concern on losing important data. Nearly 58% of the 57% participants consider loss of system accounts, files, and setting as the first problem, followed by loss on personal files like pictures and videos (28%). Rest of them, up to 14%, concerns about loss of online browsing history and bookmarks. Moreover, 38% of people state that the process of system upgrading is time consuming. Interestingly, although participants are afraid of data loss and don't want to spend too much time on it, most of them claim that they are still willing to update their system either by themselves or with extra help from friends.
To find a best solution to safely and thoroughly transfer data for XP users, IObit newly releases PCtransfer. It is a free, light, and portable data transfer tool that provides users with an easy and secure way to backup and restore data with one click. PCtransfer especially supports bookmarks and favorites backup on Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and also allows user to quickly select and backup the third-party programs and settings. PCtransfer not only helps user to transfer data from Windows XP system to new systems but also provide assistance to users for moving data to a new PC.
“Many users told us when thinking about reinstalling windows System, it brings them headache. Losing important files and wasting time to recover them will slow down the upgrading process.” Antonio Zhang mentioned, the marketing director at IObit. “We are very willing to solve this problem for our users, so we make sure PCtransfer is a reliable data transfer assistant at the moment. Of course, there are still XP users who have no further plans to upgrade to newer Windows system, and we will continue provide service to them as well.”
