AMD Corporate has made the response to the security flaws reported by CTS Labs. According to the research result, the security issues identified can be grouped into three major categories: MASTERKEY and PSP Privilege Escalation, RYZENFALL and FALLOUT, CHIMERA.
The former two vulnerabilities are all problems affecting the Platform Security Processor (PSP) while the Chimera issue, with AMD saying that it's working with ASMedia to develop suitable protections. All these three vulnerability groups require administrative access so that the attackers can get the user’s unrestricted access to the system and the right to delete, create or modify any of the folders or files on the computer, as well as change any settings.
(Details about AMD’s research result and their fixing plans)
AMD will provide additional updates on both the analysis of these issues and the related mitigation plans in the coming weeks. Anyone requires the updates please keep tuned to AMD blog for the latest news.
